Our group is working with the famous Hitchcock's Psycho.
There are many wonderful scenes in the movie and it was very hard to choose just two sequences. During the discussion our group made many screenshots to capture the most interesting moments that later on we could recreate. The shower scene was the one we all liked the most. It has great dynamic and atmosphere. Recreating it was both challenging and lots of fun.
Nearly the whole film was shot with 50 mm lenses on 35 mm cameras.
The murder of Leigh's character in the shower is the film's pivotal scene and one of the best-known in all of cinema. As such, it spawned numerous myths and legends. It was shot from December 17–23, 1959, and features 77 different camera angles.[62] The scene runs 3 minutes and includes 50 cuts.[63][inconsistent] Most of the shots are extreme close-ups, except for medium shots in the shower directly before and directly after the murder. The combination of the close shots with their short duration makes the sequence feel more subjective than it would have been if the images were presented alone or in a wider angle, an example of the technique Hitchcock described as "transferring the menace from the screen into the mind of the audience".

To capture the straight-on shot of the shower head, the camera had to be equipped with a long lens. The inner holes on the shower head were blocked and the camera placed a sufficient distance away so that the water, while appearing to be aimed directly at the lens, actually went around and past it.

We were working with several different cameras, such as Sony NEX c3, Sony RX 35 mm, Canon 60D 10-17 mm, Canon. To recreate the scene properly we used different props (bathrobes, shower curtain, tile and other) and lights. Through trial and error we discovered that the low sodium soy sauce is a good liquid substance to imitate blood when mixed with water.
The most challenging shots for us were the ones showing the killer in dark and the light source in the back.
